Yesterday's lay-day was a much needed break, and the boys took full advantage of it, with hardly any surfing involved. The set up on Tavi and Namotu doesn't require cranking surf to get through the day. There's plenty of other activities on offer, and just about all of them were sampled by the crew here. Occy and a group from Namotu jumped in the chopper early for a round of golf on the mainland. The tennis court on Tavi was in full round robin tournament mode, with Surfer photog Tom Servais showing off his fine drop shot. Kai Otton and commentator Ronny Blakey took the little catamaran out for a sail off Namotu. Yadin and Dayyan spent the entire day doing an in-depth paint pen graffiti job on three of Yadin's boards. Some of the trip's special moments were drawn there, to archive the memory, like when the gecko crawled on his traction pad. Told you it was in-depth...Andy, Kelly, Fred and Pancho went to the mainland for a round of golf too. Chief Druku joined them, and birdied a hole for the first time. Drained a long putt. The island capacity is starting to subside, as we are now down to 16 surfers left in competition. Everyone is taking advantage of the down time, for the next few days. There were a few more people up for a surf this morning, as compared to yesterday, but it's looking like another activity based day here in Fiji. There's rumblings of an official Globe Pro Fiji tennis tournament on Friday. The details are being worked out at dinner tonight, but the competition should be fierce. Another day down in Fiji, but we're certainly looking forward to another one tomorrow.
