Early Morning Day 2

The Restaurant is cooking some of the finest dishes in the South Pacific today. And, fortunately for all of us here in Fiji for the 2008 Globe Pro Fiji it also happens to be Day 1 of the event waiting period. Perfectly groomed 6 foot sets are running down the reef, just as you'd draw them on your notebook. The early birds on it first thing were Globe team riders CJ and Damien Hobgood, as well as fellow Americans Bobby Martinez and Chris Ward and South Africa's Travis Logie.

We'll be running all 16 heats of Round 1 today, with the first couple of Round 2 on hold. There's some incredible match ups in the first round draw, specifically heat 8 with Kelly Slater, Taylor Knox and Fijian Trials winner Isei Tokovou. Heats 9 is looking like a cracker too with Mick Fanning, Tim Reyes and Mark Occhilupo. Back on the pool deck prior to Heat 1 hitting the water, CJ had a huge smile on his face following a particularly long barrel where he was stalling with both hands.
